Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi is in the news not because of his films but for his controversies and affair with Aishwarya Rai also a fallout with Salman Khan, which changed his filmy career.
Recently he was in the news when an FIR was registered against him for a helmetless ride with his wife, Priyanka. Mumbai Police also issued an e-challan to him.
In a throwback interview with Filmfare, Vivek had talked about Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai. He said that involving Salman and Aishwarya has changed everything in his life, but he didn't end up marrying someone who was not suitable for him as a life partner.
Talking about his past, Vivek said, "I'm man enough to deal with professional ups and downs. But I found it difficult to deal with the personal stuff. This is a world of masks. People who don't play characters on screen play off it."
He also talked about the infamous press conference on Salman Khan, "That press conference changed my life and led me to where I am today. If that hadn't happened, maybe I'd have had success after success, lost the plot and gone so far that I'd never be able to return.''
Hinting about Aishwarya, Vivek said that she was not the right woman as a life patner, ''Maybe I would have ended up with someone who wasn't right for me as a life partner. Everything that I am doing now, impacting lives, running free schools, hospitals... came from that dark, difficult period.''
But Vivek still feels damaged by what had happened back then. "I think it was unfair. But then life isn't over yet.''
