Johnny Depp is reportedly set to return as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, sparking excitement among fans. However, Disney has yet to confirm.

Fans of Pirates of the Caribbean have reason to celebrate, as reports suggest Johnny Depp is set to return as the beloved Captain Jack Sparrow. While producer Jerry Bruckheimer previously hinted at two different versions of the next Pirates film, one without Depp, Disney has reportedly decided to bring him back. However, the official production start date remains unclear, and Disney has yet to make a formal announcement regarding his return.

Depp was removed from the franchise in 2018 following his legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard. At the time, he had even stated he wouldn’t return, "not even for $300 million." However, with his name cleared after winning the defamation case against Heard, Disney now seems eager to welcome him back. Reports suggest the studio is willing to meet his conditions and offer a massive paycheck to secure his comeback.

The legal battle between Depp and Heard was a highly publicized case, with the jury ruling in Depp’s favor. He was awarded $15 million in damages, though a portion was allocated to legal costs. Heard was also awarded $2 million in a separate claim. Now, with the controversy behind him, Depp’s potential return as Captain Jack Sparrow has sparked excitement among fans, who have long campaigned for his comeback in the iconic role.
