As Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) scripts a convincing win by 59 runs against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Abu Dhabi, here are some of the records scripted during the match. This was KKR's sixth win of the season in 22 games, while SRH suffered their sixth loss of the season in 10 games.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) managed to get the much-needed win that has inched them closer to the playoff berth. With a poor start to the KKR innings, they came back strong with the bat and the ball, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by a margin of 59 runs.
Match report: Delhi Capitals won the toss and decided to bowl first. KKR lost some of their star batsmen quite early and it was Nitish Rana and Sunil Narine’s 122-run stand that drove KKR to 194 runs at the end of their innings.
In return, DC were off to a shaky start, where the openers fell cheaply. Though Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer tried contributing with the bat, KKR bowlers nearly overpowered and restricted them to 135 runs at the end of their innings. KKR, thus, registered a comfortable 59-run victory in Abu Dhabi.
Varun Chakravarthy scripts a special one
Varun Chakravarthy is the second uncapped Indian bowler to take five (or more) wickets in an IPL game after Ankit Rajpoot 5/14 for KXIP vs SRH, in Hyderabad, in 2018.
KKR bowlers to take a five-wicket haul in IPL
Varun Chakravarthy becomes the second KKR bowler to take a five-wicket haul in IPL after Sunil Narine.
Rishabh Pant makes a unique record
Rishabh Pant has hit 100 sixes in the IPL now. With this he becomes the quickest among Indians to reach this mark, taking only 1,224 balls. Yusuf Pathan held the previous record with 1,308 balls.
Lowest strike-rate in IPL 2020 (150+ balls faced)
Rishabh Pant adds to the club with the lowest strike-rate in IPL 2020. Currently, with a strike-rate of 118.68, he is third on the list. Aaron Finch (RCB) has the lowest strike in the list (110.50).
