According to Deccan Chronicle, the biopic on late Jayalalithaa has been delayed for political reasons. The report says that the director of the movie, Faisal Saif, has been getting many threatening calls from different people with a political bent.

In an interview with DC, he said, “I’ve been getting many threat calls objecting my film.”

He also asked, “My only request to them was to watch the film before coming to any conclusion. According to them, I was targeting Amma. Why will I do that?.”

His another concern is that he is not getting a green signal to continue making the movie from the producers, he said, "I believe, even they’ve received many threat calls. Therefore they have stepped back from the film."

Previously it was reported, the filmmakers had also changed the climax of the movie, after Jayalalithaa’s demise. Actress Ragini Dwivedi was to portray the central character, alongside Prashanth Narayan and Rajpal Yadav.

Interestingly, in an interview to Simi Garewal in 1999, the late J Jayalalithaa had said that she felt Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was a suitable candidate to play her on screen.
