Vijay Sethupathi-Trisha starrer '96' movie in Kannada; Golden Star Ganesh to star in Preetham Gubbi film
Tamil's well appreciated movie '96' will be remade in Kannada with the title '99'. Ganesh will play the protagonist, but the heroine has not been finalised yet for the film
Bengaluru: The Tamil movie 96 was critically acclaimed and won people's hearts as Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan filled life into the lead characters.
Now, the movie is all set to be remade in Kannada with Golden Star Ganesh as the protagonist. Preetham Gubbi will direct the movie.
However, the name of the movie has been changed to 99 in Kannada. It will be the story of the students of the batch of ‘99.
The movie is being made under Ramu Films banner. Film producer Ramu is said to have liked the movie and obtained the remake rights in Kannada.
Popular music director Arjun Janya will score music for the movie.
Though the heroine is not finalised for the movie yet, the film is expected to go on floors in the beginning of the next year.
Previously, Preetham, Ganesh and Arjun had come together for the Kannada movie Dil Rangeela.
Dil Rangeela failed to make an impact on the box office, but 99 is expected to work magic for the trio as it was well appreciated in Kollywood.
Currently, Ganesh is waiting for the release of his movie Orange. He is also busy with two more Kannada projects, Geetha and Gimmick.
