THROWBACK: When Anushka Sharma opened up about her 'cold war' with Deepika Padukone

Be it Salman Khan- Shah Rukh Khan or Kangana Ranaut and Karan Johar, celebrities across the Indian film industry have witnessed many friendships and fallouts. One such, which is not known to many is Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma's relationship. The two may not have been best friends in Bollywood, but the two actors have always talked highly of each other. While Deepika made her acting debut in 2007 alongside Shah Rukh Khan in 'Om Shanti Om', Anushka debuted in Bollywood in 2008 with SRK's 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'. Since then, neither actress has looked back, and they are now considered among the highest-paid stars in Bollywood.

However, there were rumors about an apparent 'cold war' between the two at the start of their careers. Anushka had put an end to any suspicions about her relationship with Deepika in a 2013 interview.

"I have no problems with Deepika or anyone. I'm here to work, not to pick fights. I am content with what I am doing, and she is content with her life. And every report we hear is false. It's like a domino effect; merely to make a tale. There will be a series of lies spread about me. So, ultimately, the way women are seen in this industry is incorrect."

Anushka attended Ranveer-Deepika's reception

In 2018, Anushka also attended Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's wedding reception in Mumbai. In fact, she was among the first Bollywood celebs to congratulate Ranveer and Deepika on their marriage.

Ranveer and Anushka fell in love in 2010 after starring together in the film 'Band Baaja Baaraat'. The two also dated but broke up due to unknown reasons. 

Ranveer had also expressed gratitude to Anushka for attending his wedding reception. Ranveer had previously stated in an interview with Filmfare, "It was quite warm. It was just nice. But Anushka's presence was really essential and special to me."

On the work front, Anushka will be seen in a sports biopic 'Chakda 'Xpress'.
