Suriya was not interested in Singam 3

Singam 3 has made a tremendous opening at the box office, and Durai Singam looks as intense, energetic and brave as he appeared six years ago. The much-awaited movie received a warm welcome from fans, but Suriya who carries the entire film on his shoulders, says he was not sure about doing the third part.

Durai Singam is on the hunt of an international crime syndicate, and the film is set in the backdrop of a volatile situation following the separation of Telangana from Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh government approaches Tamil Nadu seeking their assistance to solve the murder of a police commissioner, and the officer is appointed for the mission. He has to deal with the international mafia, controlled by an Australian.

Suriya, during his visit to Kerala, for the promotion of the movie said he was at first reluctant to do the sequel. The story of the film evolved during discussions of another story with director Hari. Both of them were so obsessed with the story idea that they decided to do the sequel. I feel so excited about Singam 3, Suriya said.

The response received on the first day indicates that the third sequel too will be a great success like first and second one. The director had maintained a sense of urgency from beginning to end and unapologetically follow his style of entertainment. The high voltage punchlines and action sequences of the larger-than-life cop promises a power packed mass entertainer. Like the first and second part, Singam 3 too ends leaving a hint that the sequel is here to stay.
