The greatest techno-graphic Tamil movie under director Sankar and superstar Rajinikanth, Robo 2.0 is one of the costliest films made in the history of Indian cinema with a huge budget of Rs 400 crore. It is slated to release on January 25th next year amidst great expectations.

The first part of the film Robo released in 2010 was a blockbuster hit and raised the expectations of its sequel Robo 2.0. Though there are still five months before its release, this crazy project has become the hot topic of the country.

The film’s theatrical rights, business satellite and internet rights have been sold for huge sums. The Telugu version of the film was bought by Laika Productions long back.

Laika Production house sold the Telugu rights to Global Cinemas which now changed hands and was bought by Asian Films for a huge sum of Rs 81 crore. This being the rate of only Andhra Pradesh and Telangana rights, it can be considered as a big record in India.

Asian Films can only be safe only if the film garners Rs 85 crores share including the cost of prints.
