The 62nd Filmfare Awards is round the corner and the excitement level kind of went down once they revealed their nomination list. Some of the most important works, actors and actresses were ignored in this list and that raised a lot of eyebrows.

Therefore, in order to appreciate the overlooked efforts, Newsable decided to honour those who Filmfare quite happily ignored:

The Best Actor in a leading role (MALE) goes to – Manoj Bajpayi for Aligarh. The veteran actor came up with one of the best performances in his career so far and that definitely needs recognition.

The Best Actor in a leading role (FEMALE) goes to – Alia Bhatt for Udta Punjab. Being an actor way ahead of her generation, Alia proved why she can pull of such roles. Her role in Highway the year before was also critically appreciated and this cannot go unnoticed as well.

The Best Actor in a negative role goes to – Nawazuddin Siddiqui for Raman Raghav 2.0. We are all aware of Siddiqui’s prowess and he showcased it in this film. His character in this film did send chill down the spines of the audience.

The Best Music Album goes to – Udta Punjab. Only Amit Trivedi could have churned out those musical masterpieces for this film and eventually along with the film, the music was widely praised.

The Best Story goes to – Kapoor and Sons. Director Shakun Batra himself picked up the pen to write the beautifully spun family drama along with Ayesha DeVitre.

The Best Director goes to – Abhishek Chaubey for Udta Punjab. It was hard to choose between a number of impressive directors but Newsable decided to give it to Chaubey for the kind of effort he has put behind the film to depict the issues of modern day Punjab.
