Watch: Jyothika’s question in 'Magalir Mattum' will leave you thinking!

It starts off with a car driving on the road against a picturesque backdrop with a pack of middle-aged women, including Jyothika. 

 

One of them starts off a not-so-serious conversation about the number of dosas she has made for her family in the last thirty years. Another woman joins in the dosa conversation and adds a bit drama to it. 

 

And all three women started arguing over how many dosas they have prepared through the years when Jyothika interrupts the ladies and asks – So, you have made an unlimited number of dosas right? Has somebody made even one dosa for you?. 

 

 

Later, Jyothika gets out of the car, stands on a ledge facing the valley and screams “I exist too!’ and the other women join her too.

 

The film seems to be a story of a group of women, who take on the man’s world. 

 

Jyothika had taken a professional sabbatical after her marriage to Tamil superstar Suriya and made a comeback with 36 Vayadhinile, which is a remake of Manju Warrior's Malayalam film How Old Are You? 

 

 

Magalir Mattum is a women-centric film, in which she plays the role of a documentary filmmaker, spearheading the cause of women. The movie also features Bhanupriya, Urvasi and Saranya Ponvannan in pivotal roles. Magalir Mattum is produced by Suriya’s production house – 2D entertainment.  According to a news agency, Suriya took permission for the title from Kamal Haasan who had produced a movie with a similar title years ago. 

 

Bramma.G helms the film.  The movie has been shot across Uttar Pradesh, in areas like Ghaziabad and Agra.  According to reports, Suriya will make a special appearance in the climax sequence. Ghibran has scored the background music, while Manikandan has handled the cinematography. Suriya unveiled the teaser which has already crossed one million views.
