Actress Sheela was a contemporary of J Jayalalithaa and from the 60s to early 80s both actresses ruled the silver screen.

While Jayalalithaa was popular in Tamil movies, Sheela was the most sought after heroine in Malayalam movies.

In spite of all the stardom, both stars shared a great bond. In a candid talk with Asianet News Sheela shared her fond memories with Jayalalithaa.

"I used to call her Ammu. We both were busy in our respective careers, but whenever we happened to shoot nearby, we used to sneak out from our respective movie sets wearing purdahs to watch films and exhibitions.

Even we both built our houses around the same time, I remember, while I paid attention to the beauty of my house Jayalalithaa built her house with this huge library. She might have had all the books in this world and always had a book with her. I've never seen an intelligent woman like Jayalalithaa".
