Dharmendra remembers Izzat costar Jayalalithaa

Jayalalithaa’s debut in Bollywood film as a lead actress in ‘Izzat’ that was released in 1968. The movie directed by T.Prakash Rao was quite popular for his works. She played a tribal woman named Jhumki. She was paired opposite a veteran actor Dharmendra. 

 

On her demise, the veteran actor Dharmendra remembers his talented co-star and popular politician, Jayalalithaa. He said, "It's very shocking; I am still in shock.  A big lost for Tamil Nadu and the country. Especially to me, Jaya has worked with me in Bollywood film Izzat; we were togeather for one and a half months in Manali for the shooting.  She was a very nice person; she used to cook and bring food on the sets of the film." 

 

 “If it is remembered to this day, it is for Jayalalithaa shows off her dance moves to Lata Ji's song Jagi Badan Mein Jwala.”

He also added, "Whenever I go to Madras, I used to call her and talked to her over the phone. Once or twice I met her personally, she was the same person what she was used to be back in her acting days. When I heard the news, her memory flashback in front of me as an actor and her journey from a politician to the CM of Tamil Nadu. It was her hard work and had God's blessings that she grew in her life."
