Okay, all of us want to know why Kattappa killed Amarendra Baahubali in the first installment of the Baahubali franchise and let’s face it; we may have to wait until it makes its worldwide premiere on April 28. However, there are other burning questions on our eager minds and luckily for us, Prabhas and Rana Daggubati agreed to answer them.
The actors spoke about Kattappa, the character who is responsible for the many conspiracy theories surrounding the SS Rajamouli franchise. Without going into specifics about Kattappa’s role in the sequel, Rana said that Kattappa is probably in his mid-eighties and added that he’s not dying anytime soon.
“He’s (Kattappa) like Bheeshma, he’ll choose his death I’m assuming,” Rana told Bollywood Life. Prabhas concurred and in the process, leaked a suspenseful plot line in Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
Will Kattappa choose his own death like Bheeshma, the patriarch in Mahabharata? What will lead him to make such a decision? These are some of the questions that the film will no doubt answer in a few days.
Meanwhile, director Rajamouli said the franchise isn’t about why Kattappa killed Baahubali. Instead, it is about the situations that lead up to that point and the sequel will focus on what happens next, he said during a promotional activity at the Facebook office in Hyderabad. In any case, it looks like Kattappa’s role in Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is central to the plot and one that every fan in India and across the world is eager to watch.
