BJP moves EC, claims Mamata lied in her nomination paper
Mamata's rival Suvendu Adhikari has reached out to the Returning Officer of the Nandigram Assembly constituency, claiming that the Trinamool Congres chief had failed to disclose particulars of the pending legal proceedings against her.

Mamata's rival Suvendu Adhikari has reached out to the Returning Officer of the Nandigram Assembly constituency, claiming that the Trinamool Congres chief had failed to disclose particulars of the pending legal proceedings against her.
Suvendu claimed that Mamata had at least six cases lodged against her, which include 5 cases lodged in Assam in 2008 and one registered by the CBI in Kolkata in 2008.
He cited a Supreme Court verdict which made it essential for any candidate standing for elections must disclose all pending cases in the election affidavit.
Claiming that Mamata had chosen to hide the details of the pending cases, Suvendu said that the TMC chief's nomination papers were defective.
Mamata had filed her nomination on March 10 at the Haldia sub-divisional office after a two-km roadshow. She was accompanied by TMC general secretary Subrata Bakshi.
