Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has issued a notice to the Central Crime Branch regarding the bail application of Sandalwood actress Ragini Dwivedi, who is currently lodged at the Parappana Agrahara Jail in connection with the Sandalwood drugs case.

The NDPS Special Court had denied bail to Ragini on September 28 after which she moved the bail plea to the High Court.

Ragini’s petition was heard by Justice BA Patil, who issued the notice to the CCB regarding her bail application and adjourned the matter to October 23.

Ragini’s lawyer, Mohammed Tahir, has argued in the High Court that Ragini has nothing to do with the Sandalwood Drugs case. Adding that she has never consumed nor supplied or sold drugs.

Mohammed Tahir further stated that there is no evidence or documents for the allegation made against Ragini by the police who registered an FIR based on a statement by Ravishankar misusing the law.

Meanwhile, Ragini Dwivedi was treated at the prison hospital as the authorities denied permission for her to get treated in a private hospital after she had been complaining of severe back ache over the last few days.
