Extremely bizzare: Thief gulps down gold chain; cops feed him bananas and constipation syrup
In an attempt to recover a robbed gold chain, cops subjected a thief to go through a different punishment, not lathis but eating bananas and taking syrup. A young thief swallowed the gold chain and after he was caught by the public, blamed it on his associates for running away. But after the public informed that he had swallowed the chain, he was subjected to a medical test and the stolen chain was recovered accordingly.

On August 21, a small-time rowdy Vijay Gunda along with his associates had snatched a gold chain from a woman and attempted to flee the spot, however as the woman held the chain tightly, he tripped and fell down and was eventually caught.
As the public began trashing, he gulped down the gold chain piece and blamed his associates for vanishing with the gold chain piece.
But the public who saw him swallowing the gold chain informed the police who took him to the government hospital and a stomach scan was done. It was revealed that the chain was in his stomach. The doctor there reportedly suggested cops give more bananas and also constipation syrup to soften his tool hoping the chain will come out.

The cops followed the advice and said to have recovered the chain from him. The accused is still in hospital as he is being treated for superficial injuries as the public trashed him.
The City Market police say, as many women in and around the market roam for work or shopping, thieves and anti-social elements target this place and hence have advised all to remain alert and also avoid wearing and displaying jewels in public.
The cops say that based on the inputs extracted from the accused, the cops are on the lookout for co-accused Sanjay and Prem.
Now after the incident, it is said that the cops also have begun to identify accused Vijay by other names such as 'Loose motion Vijay' and 'Syrup Vijay'.
