English pacer Jofra Archer is undoubtedly England's one of the most worthy pacers of late. However, he has become a headache for his Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals.

What happened?
Archer recently took part in the Tests and Twenty20 Internationals against India. However, his old finger injury flared up, while a fresh elbow injury has cast doubt on his RR's stint for IPL 2021.

Aftermath
According to England and Wales Cricket Board, Archer has successfully undergone surgery on his right finger on Monday to remove a glass fragment stuck for his fish tank fall at his residence in January. Meanwhile, ESPNCricinfo reports that he would be out of action for the first four RR matches but is expected to be back in action following the same.

"He will now commence two weeks of rehabilitation. The Consultant will review him before returning to training. Further update on his elbow injury will be provided once he has returned to bowling to assess the effectiveness of his recent injection," read ECB's statement.

"They've operated and I think they found a small fragment of glass still in attendance. It obviously healed, but there was part of the fish tank still in his finger," ECB's director of cricket, Ashley Giles had said on BBC's Tuffers & Vaughan show.

IPL 2021
As for RR's opening game, it would be on April 12 against Punjab Kings, followed by Delhi Capitals (April 15), Chennai Super Kings (April 19) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (April 22). Archer has had a decent stint in the IPL since being roped in by RR in 2018.

He has claimed 46 wickets in just 35 games at an economy of 7.13. He finished as the side's highest wicket-taker for last season, with 20 from 14 at 6.55. Unfortunately, his side managed to finish at the bottom of the table.
