India vs Sri Lanka 2021: Indians arrive in Mumbai for 14-day quarantine ahead of departure (See pictures)

Team India is currently in England for the ICC World Test Championship 2019-21 final against New Zealand. Meanwhile, a second-string side would be travelling to Sri Lanka for a limited-overs tour, as the side has begun its 14-day quarantine in Mumbai.

As far as Team India is concerned, it is currently preparing in England ahead of the crucial 2019-21 ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand, starting Friday at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. Following the conclusion of the same, it would stay back in the country for the upcoming five-Test series, for the Pataudi Trophy, in August.

Meanwhile, India is scheduled to travel to Sri Lanka next month for a limited-overs tour. And, since the main team would be in England, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided to send a second-string side that is equally competent, while it would be coached by National Cricket Academy head coach Rahul Dravid.

Ahead of its scheduled departure on June 28, the Indians arrived in Mumbai on Tuesday for a 14-day quarantine. The BCCI shared some pictures of the same, as the entire squad, led by Shikhar Dhawan, has entered the quarantine at a BCCI-designated hotel. The post was captioned, #TeamIndia’s limited-overs squad for the Sri Lanka series has assembled in Mumbai 👌 Good to see some new and happy faces in the squad 🙂🙂 #SLvIND”.

The players would have to undergo regular RT-PCR tests and could be allowed to use the gym after the initial six days if they test negative for COVID. Following their arrival in Colombo, they would undergo a rigid quarantine until July 1, followed by a relaxed quarantine that would include light training sessions. After the mandatory seven-day quarantine completion, they would be allowed to train entirely from June 5.

The tour begins with the ODIs to be played on July 13, 16 and 18, followed by the T20Is on 21, 23 and 25. All the matches would be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
