Brian Lara, who is serving as the team's performance mentor has provided valuable advice to the West Indies team on how to outplay Rohit Sharma-led India in the upcoming Test series.
As the new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle commences, India and West Indies are set to commence their campaign with a two-Test series at Roseau in Dominica. Skipper Kraigg Brathwaite believes that the West Indies batsmen will greatly benefit from legendary Brian Lara's insights into situational awareness of the game.
Lara has joined the team as their performance mentor, providing valuable guidance on planning strategies and scoring runs. Brathwaite expressed his gratitude for having Lara's presence, noting that his advice and influence have a positive impact on the players.

The series opener in Dominica holds great anticipation for both teams, with India aiming to bounce back from their recent WTC final defeat to Australia at The Oval. During their arrival in Barbados, the Indian team had the opportunity to meet the legendary West Indies all-rounder, Sir Garfield Sobers. Brathwaite urged the home crowd in Dominica to support the West Indies team wholeheartedly as they take on India in the upcoming matches.
"It's important to start well. We are playing against India, so you know the guys are really looking forward to it. Dominica will host the first Test match, and we call for the supporters in Dominica to come out and support us -- but the guys are really looking forward to the first two Test matches of this (WTC) cycle," he added.
"The guys (teammates) have put some good effort in the last three days, and they still have a few days left and you know we have (to) keep pushing hard."
Brain Lara didn't have a good run as a mentor at the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League but will be looking to turn things around for the West Indies International team.
