Bengaluru: Ahead of IPL 2020 in the UAE, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has been named the brand ambassador of Paytm First Games (PFG), a subsidiary of Paytm digital payments company.

On Tuesday (September 15), PFG took to its Twitter account to make the announcement. “We are excited to announce @sachin_rt  as the brand ambassador for @PaytmFirstGames  #SachinIsBack (sic),” it wrote.

“We are excited to share that Sachin Tendulkar, the master blaster is now our brand ambassador. The sporting icon would be instrumental in creating awareness of the Paytm First Games’ fantasy sports category in India. Other than fantasy cricket, the legendary cricketer would help us to promote and generate excitement around all sports including kabaddi, football, and basketball,” PFG said on its blog.

“We will invest over 300 crores for growing the market of fantasy sports and other online gaming events during this financial year. In addition to this, we are targeting to cross reach the milestone of 100 million users in the upcoming T20 league,” it added.

Tendulkar said, “Cricket is an engaging sport, and we all tend to have opinions about the game – right from player selection to playing strategies. Paytm First Games will give fans the opportunity to don their thinking hats and experience the thrill of making the correct choices and getting their teams to win.
