This time, Mumbai Police has shared a new post on wearing face masks amid rising Covid-19 cases using a Disney Princess.  

If India is unable to break the chain of the second wave of Covid-19 cases, in the worst-case scenario, it could start witnessing 2,320 deaths per day by the first week of June 2021, the Lancet Covid-19 Commission's India Task Force has said in its report.

Announcing the decision, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said the health and safety of the young doctors was paramount at the moment. 

Making the announcement, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the move was necessitated in view of the new wave of fast-spreading Coronavirus cases and the present situation in the city.

Days after the Union government banned the export of Remdesivir, approvals have been given for stepping up Remdesivir manufacturing capacity to around 78 lakh vials per month. Remdesivir manufacturers have also volunteered to reduce the price of the anti-viral drug to less than Rs 3,500 by the weekend. 

According to Union Health Ministry data, the number of new Covid cases stood at 2,00,739. The country also reported 1038 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Amid the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination controversies in the country, there have been debates happening between various state governments against the Centre.  

"I am glad that the exams have been cancelled/postponed. This is a great relief for lakhs of students and their parents,” Kejriwal tweeted.

There has been a demand from leaders across the political spectrum and parents of students that the exams be cancelled or deferred in the wake of the alarming surge in the number of Coronavirus cases in the country.
