Actress Tamanna Bhatia, who was among the celebrity actors to have tested COVID-19 positive, has recovered from the infection.

According to the data from the Union Health Ministry, nearly one in every five patients, or 17.9% of the people, with comorbidities who contract the Covid-19 in India, succumb to the viral disease. For patients with no comorbidities, the corresponding proportion is a very low 1.2%. This means that people with comorbidities are 15 times more likely to die if infected by the Coronavirus. So, what is comorbidity?

The total positive cases of the country today are 7,95,087. They comprise merely 10.70% of the total cases.

Apprehending a surge in COVID-19 cases in the coming weeks in view of Durga Puja festival, the state clinical establishment regulatory commission on Monday (October 12) has asked all private hospitals to increase the number of beds for COVID patients and not refuse any patient during the festive season.

Over 71 lakh coronavirus cases have been detected so far in India, with 55,342 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll from the virus has reached 1,09,856, as per the latest update from the health ministry.
