81-year-old woman defeats coronavirus, says ‘don't be afraid, stay indoors’

An 81-year-old woman, who defeated coronavirus in Punjab advises all to never be afraid of the virus. Just stay home, she added.

Chandigarh: An 81-year-old woman, who defeated coronavirus in Punjab, urged people to stay indoors to protect themselves from novel coronavirus. 

Chief minister Amarinder Singh took to Twitter and shared a video of the woman. The tweet read, "Story of 81 year old Kulwant Nirmal ji of Mohali who has  recovered from #Covid19 is truly inspiring. Kulwant Ji had pre-existing conditions like diabetes & hypertension but her will to fight overshadowed everything. She is now healthy & back home. Sharing her video with you all.”

In her video message, she said with folded hands, "Doctors took care of me. Never be afraid of the disease. Follow whatever the government and the doctors are saying."

"Keep your will power strong. Have courage and pray with faith. Waheguru will save you," the octogenarian said.

Her son Gurminder Singh said he was quarantined at home along with other family members when his mother was admitted to a private hospital.
