By-elections will be held in Nandyal on August 23. YSRCP is trying to gain the support of the Muslim voters. It is now announced that the party will have two MLCs from Nandyal.

Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in his campaign meeting promised the minority Muslims in Nandyal that they will another MLC seat.

YS Jagan attended an open-air meeting in Nandyal to support his candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy. There was a large turnout of Muslim voters especially women voters who came in support of YSRCP.

Speaking in the meeting, Jagan said that YSRCP would get another MLC seat in 2018 which he proposed to give to the Muslim community.

Nandyal already has a Muslim MLC, NMD Farooq, from Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He requested the Nandyal voters to support YSRCP in the by-election and they would fulfil all the promised welfare measures. YSRCP has already promised Navaratnas, nine gems of welfare schemes to the people of Andhra.
