Vikram Goud shooting drugs debts suicide murder attempt

In a shocking development, reports are now doing the rounds that Vikram Goud, son of former Congress Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mukesh Goud, who was allegedly shot by miscreants may have been part of the drug mafia.

Police suspect that Vikram Goud was under severe financial crisis and may have been part of the drug nexus. On Friday, reports claimed that Vikram was allegedly shot by miscreants at his house in Banjara Hills. His wife Shipali took him to the hospital and informed the police stating that intruders shot at her husband.

The police, however, now claim they have no proof to show that Vikram was not attacked by outsiders but he has attempted suicide.

"When we studied crime scene, we did not find any signs of someone fleeing. The kind of disturbances expected in a hypothetical case of a person attempting to kill another by opening fire were all missing in this case," said deputy commissioner of police (West Zone) A Venkateshwara Rao.

The investigators claim that Vikram has a share in a pub and has been heavy in debts for some time. The police also suspect that he may have been part of the drug racket and that is another reason for his suicide attempt.

Doctors said that Vikram’s condition is stable but he didn’t give his statement to the police for a long time and when he did, he stated what his wife had already given in her statement.

“He has not spoken the truth yet. He just repeated what his wife had said earlier. We need to get more details from him about the incident to understand what actually happened,” said police commissioner M. Mahender Reddy.

The CCTV footages have established that there was no intrusion. All evidence found so far by West Zone police and CLUES team points that the injuries were self-inflicted, a police source said.

The police claim that Vikram was under heavy debts and had even sold off his house given to him by his father. The police have also found several SMSs on his phone from unknown people asking him to pay back the money.
