Senior TDP MLA Buchaiah Chowdary has accepted the challenge of ex-MP Undavalli Arun Kumar to discuss the deception behind Pattiseema Project Undavalli also advised MLA Gorantla to study the Polavaram Project before attending the discussion The TDP MLA is attending the discussion on the orders of the CM

Ex-MP of Congress Undavalli Arun Kumar conveyed his appreciation to Telugu Desam MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary for taking up the challenge to attend the discussion on Pattiseema Project.

For a long time, Undavalli was campaigning against Pattiseema, that there’s a lot of discrepancy behind it. He said his argument was not sentimental. He researched extensively on the project, searched the Cog reports, GOs and gathered information from many engineers. He wanted to convey this information to the people and organised many platforms for discussion.

The government didn’t have a proper answer to his queries and this provoked him to openly challenge the government for an open discussion. According to Arun Kumar, the TDP doesn’t have any kind of information on the Pattiseema apart from the knowledge that river Godavari waters come to Krishna and waters of Krishna go to Rayalaseema. They are more into worshipping of waters. He says, they are least bothered about the corruption in the flowing waters as the big fish of the project are calling the shots. Now, one senior TDP leader and MLA accepted the challenge of Arun Kumar for which he conveyed his ‘thanks’.

Undavalli announced that he is ready for the discussion on the 18th in the presence of farmers.

But he questioned, “Gorantla didn’t clearly specify the venue of the discussion, whether it’s on the Krishna barrage or near Krishna River. I can prove even today that Pattiseema is a worthless project. You estimated the Polavaram head works construction requires Rs 4200 crore. Pattiseema and Purushothapatnam lift irrigation project require Rs 3200 crore. If you spend this amount on the Polavaram Project, 70 per cent would have been completed.”

The CAG report clearly stated that Pattiseema is a big fraud and bore a loss of Rs 391 crores to the treasury. Undavalli accused that a big conspiracy was in the process to keep aside the Polavaram project by publicising the importance of Pattiseema through the farming community.

He reminded that the National Water Development Authority (NWDA) said that the convergence of rivers is nothing but a kick back.

Undavalli also suggested Gorantla to study the Polavaram project before coming to the discussion. Gorantla’s decision to attend the discussion is by the order of CM.
