A youth has lost his life due to the selfie craze A Guntur student fell down from a moving train into a 150 feet valley while taking a selfie D Gopi Reddy hit his head on a boulder and died
This incident occurred on Sunday when a passenger train from Visakhapatnam was going to Araku Valley. A final year Pharmacy student from Guntur Malineni Lakshmaiah Pharmacy College, D. Gopi Reddy (21) along with his friends went on a trip to Araku Valley. They had boarded the train to Araku from Vizag.

The train was travelling from Karakavalasa to Similiguda stations and down below was flowing the River Gosthani. The train at that point was at a height of 150mts above the valley. The students had settled in their seats as their station was approaching. Gopi Reddy went to the washroom, when all of a sudden there was huge uproar in the compartment.
Some passengers informed that a young man had lost his balance and had fallen down while taking a selfie. The students realised that it was their friend who had fallen and immediately stopped the train. They explained to the driver who had to bring back the train to that point as the train had already travelled a good two kilometres.
Gopi Reddy’s friends, the train driver and some passengers got down and saw a body lying in a pool of blood. He died on impact as he hit his head on a boulder. His friends informed the family while the Araku RPF Police filed a case and sent the body of Gopi Reddy for postmortem.
This is the latest in the number of selfie deaths being reported across the country.
