Primary accused in Visakhapatnam land scam meets CM Chandrababu demands justice

The AnakapalleTelugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Peela Govinda Satyanarayana, the  main accused in the land scam in Visakhapatnam district met with the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravathi.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) accused Peela of grabbing  the Ramavaram lands using his authority. Amidst the news of  the CM’s anger on the MLA for dishonouring the party’s name, Peela’s meeting the CM at this juncture is now a talking point.

After his meeting with the CM, Peela Govinda spoke to the media and clarified the issue stating that the lands that he was accused of encroaching are an inheritance from his father Peela Mahalakshmi Naidu. He said that he didn’t do any fraud and explained the same to the CM. He asked the CM not for assistance, but for justice.

Peela clearly said that if the SIT proved that he had tampered with the records and was responsible for the land scam, he would retire from politics. He said that the SIT received 3,000 complaints but the team is targeting him and making him a scapegoat. So he sought the involvement of the CM for justice.

But the DIG of SIT, Vineet Brijlal, said that they were not targeting anyone but were conducting an impartial investigation. He warned of dire consequences to whoever is involved, irrespective of their position and status.
