- TDP senior leader Chalamalasetty Ramanujaya attributed TDP’s victory in 2014 elections to Pawan Kalyan’s intervention
- TDP won the election with a slight majority over YSRCP
- Till the last minute YSRCP was leading the survey polls as the victors
Telugu Desam Party senior leader and Kapu Corporation Chairman Chalamalasetty Ramanujaya said that the cause for TDP’s victory in 2014 is due to the intervention of actor Pawan Kalyan.
Speaking to the party workers, Chalamalasetty made this bold statement and also proceeded to say that Chandrababu himself publicly announced this many times.
Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party was leading the trends in every poll survey in 2014 and everyone expected YS Jaganmohan Reddy to win the elections. But at the last moment just before four days of campaigning, Chandrababu introduced Pawan Kalyan into the fray and succeeded in turning the poll towards TDP.
Pawan being from Kapu community and a well-known actor with a huge fan following among the youngsters influenced the younger generation and turned the tables around for TDP.
Though this was a general opinion, TDP never accepted it until now when the senior TDP leader spilled the beans.
Kapu community has been exhibiting its growing antagonism towards the ruling TDP for not giving the Kapu community the promised special BC status. The suppressed Kapu and Dalit communities have united against the government and plan to raise their voice in the upcoming 2019 General Elections.
