Jagan Mohan Reddy plans a two week camp in Nandyal

Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YCP) supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy decided to stay in Nandyal from 9th to 21st August to oversee the by-election campaign. The roadmap for Jagan’s campaign seems to have been prepared by the YCP candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy.

As the by-election is supposed to be the precursor to the 2019 elections, both YCP and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are not leaving an inch of political. Allotting two weeks time to campaign in Nandyal shows the seriousness of the by-election.

In the two weeks, Jagan would campaign for five days in the municipality. Road shows and door-to-door campaigns in Nandyal would be conducted. In the mandal centres, small meetings would be held but major campaigning would be from door-to-door. Jagan is bent on meeting every voter in the constituency in whichever way possible.

Though YCP candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy is stronger than TDP’s candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy, it should not be forgotten that Bhuma is the candidate of the ruling Chandrababu government. That’s the reason Jagan and YCP are very serious about the by-election.

According to intelligence reports submitted to Chandrababu, Silpa Mohan is leading in the polls. So Chandrababu is not leaving any stone unturned to change the wave of the by-election and Jagan is also wary of the ruling government’s tricks.

This is probably the first time an opposition leader is camping for two weeks in a constituency for campaigning.
