A Hyderabad High Court bench has directed AP government to once again conduct the auction of Sadavarti Satram lands. The AP government must complete the auction within six months.
In a major disappointment to the TDP government regarding Sadavarti lands, a division bench of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed the Andhra Pradesh government to once again conduct the auction of lands belonging to Sri Sadavarti Satram at Amaravati in Guntur district at a minimum price of Rs 27.44 crore.

The HC bench also sternly asked the government to complete the auction process within six weeks. It may be recalled that petitioner MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy deposited Rs 27.44 crore with the endowments commissioner of AP towards the offer made in the court regarding the purchase of Sadavarti lands.
Sadavarti Satram land scam has an embarrassment for Chandrababu Naidu after it came out that crores worth of 84 acres of Sadavarti lands situated in Tamil Nadu were sold at a throwaway price Rs 22 crores to Ramanujaiah, a supporter of Chandrababu.
YCP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy filed a petition with the High Court regarding the discrepancies in the sale of the land. Government’s argument that the lands are worth only Rs 22.40 crores was dismissed by the Court.
High Court gave its verdict in support of Alla and issued an order by which Alla can buy the lands by paying an extra Rs 5 crores to the Rs 22 crores. In a fresh order, the court ordered the government to issue a national notice of auction and decided Rs 27.44, the amount paid by Alla, as the base price of auction.
The court also ordered AP government to sell the land to any buyer willing to pay more than Rs 27.44 crores and if none come forward, then the land to be registered to Alla Ramakrishna Reddy.
