High Court directs for a fresh auction of Sadavarti Satram lands

Andhra Pradesh government received a great shock from the High Court regarding the Sadavarti Satram lands on Tuesday. The court ordered for a fresh auction of the 84 acres of Sadavarti lands within a span of six weeks to complete the whole process.

It is known that AP CM Chandrababu Naidu sold hundreds of crores worth of Sadavarti Satram lands in Tamil Nadu for just Rs 22 crores to his supporter Ramanujaiah. The 84 acres of land was sold without a public auction.

When the issue came to the forefront, Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy petitioned the High Court and made known the details of the sale. When the government said that the lands are not worth more than Rs 22 crores, the court ordered Alla that he could buy the lands by paying Rs 5 crores more. Alla paid Rs 27 crores and bought the lands but the government refused to register the lands in his name.

The court gave a judgement in the case and ordered the government to conduct a fresh auction with Rs 27 crores as the base price. The court clearly specified that if no one participates in the auction, then the land should be given to Alla Ramakrishna Reddy.
