Fear of Nandyal bypolls clearly writ on Chandrababu’s face

FollowThe fear of the by-elections in Nandyal is clearly writ on Chandrababu Naidu’s face. His critics say that he didn’t bother about the Muslim minority in the last three years of his power and now he is portraying his immense love for them. He announced posts to two leaders in the Nandyal Constituency and to Jaleel Khan in Vijayawada keeping in mind the by-election.
MF Sharif had been working for TDP since its beginning and was given an MLC post recently and that too after years of pleading. After which no more posts for minorities were given. Suddenly his decision to make Nandyal Senior leader NMD Farooq as an MLC and Nandyal ex-Chairman Nauman as Urdu Academy Chairman, has got tongues wagging. A recent entry from YCP, MLA Jaleel Khan, he was made the Chairman of Wakf Board. He also nominated district president Somisetty Venkateswarlu as the Kurnool Urban Development Authority (KUDA) Chairman.
The point to be noted is that Chandrababu kept Farooq and Venkateswarlu far away from him all these years. Though they were very senior, Chandrababu hasn’t been interacting with the duo for quite some time now. These two secured positions with the advent of Nandyal by-election. Similarly, YCP defector Jaleel Khan and Congress defector Nauman secured positions because of the by-elections.
These sudden nominations by Chandrababu Naidu to so many positions to the Muslim minority is being construed as Chandrbabu’s fear about the by-election. The Nandyal Constituency has a huge Muslim vote bank.
