Cops nabbed 28 youngsters in Nandyal distributing money

FollowDistribution of money for votes in the Nandyal by-election has reached its last phase with polling date of August 23rd looming near. Election frenzy has reached its peak with both ruling TDP (Telugu Desam Party) and opposition YCP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) trying every means of luring the voter.
The last phase of ‘vote-for-note’ is in the process and the police nabbed some youth distributing money in the early hours of Friday. This is probably the first time when police caught people distributing money and the credit goes to locals.
According to received information, discrepancies in money distribution led to the arrest of 28 youth. The youth distributed Rs 2000 per vote in one area and considerably reduced the value in the next area which led to altercation between the youth and the locals. The locals deeply angered reported the matter to the police who came and caught the youth red-handed.
But no one revealed the identity of the youth including the police and both TDP and YCP are on a blame game as to whose men have been the arrested. If the culprits belonged to opposition YCP, then the TDP ministers and leaders wouldn’t have been so calm but would have made a hue and cry.
YCP MLA Gadikota Srikanth Reddy went to the Police Station as soon as he heard the news and identified four youth as belonging to their party. Talking to the media, he said that the four people had disagreement over spending the money for their use which led to their arrest and it was grave injustice to arrest them for such a trivial matter.
Everyone is surprised as to the silence of the police in not revealing the details of the nabbed culprits.
