Biopic on badminton coach Gopichand has all the elements of a thriller

FollowDirector Praveen Sattaru of the PSV Garuda Vega claim is now planning a movie on PV Sindhu's coach Gopichand.
Praveen won quite some appreciation for his film, which many compared to be of Hollywood standards.
Praveen has five films in his kitty, all different genres and his sixth will be a biopic of ace shuttler and coach Gopichand.
Actor Sudheer Babu will be playing the lead in the film. Praveen spoke about this film in a recent interview in which he stated that the idea of doing a biopic of Gopichand was not his but Sudheer Babu’s. But the story gripped him when he started the research on the life of Gopichand.
“The idea of doing a film on Gopichand was not mine but Sudheer Babu’s. Initially I was hesitant to take it up but as I started to research about his life I was fascinated. I learnt many shocking things about the coach and it is nothing short of a drama.
“In biopics we tend to add drama to the life story, but so is not the case with Gopichand’s life. We have to tone down the melodrama and not in the negative sense but in a positive way as Gopichand is a very positive person.
“We approached many producers after we decided on the film and everyone was eager about the commercial aspect of the film which we outrightly dismissed. Luckily we found a producer from Mumbai willing to foot the bill according to our way of story. We will start the bilingual film in Telugu and Hindi at the beginning of next year,” said Praveen.
