AP Home Minister snatches microphone from Kapu leader

FollowThe TDP government is already facing heat over the Kapu agitation. Now to further make matters worse, state home minister is being accused of insulting the Kapu Corporation Chairman Chalamalasetti Ramanujaya.
With the Kapu agitation threatening to destabilise Andhra Pradesh, one would expect Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa to tread cautiously.
The Kapu community leaders on Monday met at The Venue Function Hall in Vijayawada on Monday where the Kapu Corporation Chairman Chalamalasetti Ramanujaya hit out against Mudragada Padmanabham.
The meeting was held to discuss the welfare of Kapu community and place their demands before CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu. However, the Corporation Chairman Ramanujaya criticised Mudragada for bringing a bad name to his community.
But as Ramanujaya went on to further attack Mudragada, Home Minister Chinna Rajappa got up and grabbed the mike from Ramanujaya’s hands. He then asked him to confine himself to the Kapu demands.
Ramanujaya and everyone present were stunned by this action and Kapu leaders objected to snatching of the mike from the Chairman’s hands.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is treading on delicate waters on the Mudragada issue with the onset of Nandyal by-election and Kakinada Corporation election. Mudragada has already called the Kapu community to vote against TDP and anyone speaking against Mudragada may be hazardous for TDP.
