AP government to no longer favour JC Diwakar Reddy

A major bus accident had taken place at Mullapadu on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad National Highway in Krishna District on 28th February this year. This involved the Diwakar Travels bus owned by TDP MP from Anantapur JC Diwakar Reddy and his brother JC Prabhakar Reddy TDP MLA from Tadipatri.

But the government of AP gave a clean chit to the travels stating that they had not violated any laws. After the investigation report of Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Rajini, the High Court gave a dressing down to the government for its leniency. The High Court accused JC for infringement of labour laws.

In view of its losing face, the government took a u-turn and submitted a report on the actual accident scenario. Principal Secretary of Labour Department Neerabh Kumar Prasad on behalf of the government stated in his report that Diwakar Travels had violated labour laws. He also stated that the government is issuing show cause notices to all management who had violated laws. The High Court decided that the next hearing will be in September after the special drive of the government.

The atrocities of JC with the support of the government were immense, but High Court’s warning to the government had put a lid to this support. The government now decided to maintain its distance from JC.
