Andhra minister's son killed after SUV rams into metro pillar in Hyderabad

Andhra Urban Development ministers son killed in Hyderabad

Nishith Narayana, the 23-year-old son of AP Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Dr R Narayana, was killed in Hyderabad last night after the SUV he was travelling in slammed into a Metro rail pillar at around 2 am. A friend - Raja Ravi Chandra, who was with him in the vehicle, was also killed. The night of the accident saw the city lashed by heavy rains. 

The high-speed crash crushed the entire front section of the white Mercedes Benz SUV the duo were driving, killing them both despite the deployment of airbags. According to a report in the New Indian Express, Nishith and Raja had spent some time in a friend's house, hoping to wait out the rains, before heading out late in the night. 

Some time between 2 and 2:30 am, the SUV rammed into metro rail pillar number 9, between Pedamma Temple and Madhapur. Those nearby extracted the severely injured passengers and sent the dup to Apollo Hospital. The hospital declared them dead on arrival. 

It is known at this time who was driving, why the crash was so fatal and whether or not any liqour or other intoxicants were consumed by either of the two. Dr P Narayana, who was in London, has been informed and is rushing back to Hyderabad.
