India achieved the landmark milestone of 100 crore vaccinations on Thursday morning in its battle against the coronavirus pandemic and Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi to mark the occasion and laud the relentless efforts of healthcare staff and frontline workers.

Achieving the feat over a period of nine months, roughly over 20,00,000 workers were involved during this crucial period and significantly India administered almost 15 out of every 100 doses globally.

India’s vaccination coverage has been steadily increasing: 74% of the estimated adult population has received its first dose, and 31% is fully vaccinated.
