"It has been two years since I received a call from my son..."

A teary Darshan Singh still hopes that his son would call him once and ask about his well-being.

Darshan Singh's son Kulwinder Singh was among the 40 CRPF jawans who were killed in a suicide attack near Lethpora in Pulwama district of Jammu & Kashmir on February 14 two years ago.

Even after two years, the family of Constable Singh has not been able to gather itself. He was the only child of his parents.

Seventy-year-old Darshan Singh pays tribute and performs 'aarti' in front of his son's photo everyday. He always wear his son's CRPF jacket.

In their house, the parents have dedicated a room for their martyred son.

"My son used to call us everyday twice. It has been two years now since he has called. Everyday, he used to take care of us on phone. He was on the border but it was like he was with us here," Darshan Singh said.

The the death of 40 CRPF troops in the Pulwama terror attack had left the nation shell shocked. On February 26, India carried out airstrike in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir’s Balakote and destroyed the terrorist launchpads.
