In the last few days, heavy rains battered Bengaluru as many low-lying areas were flooded, buildings collapsed, a life was lost. In the latest incident, the Kempegowda International Airport was flooded.
More than 20 cars ferrying passengers broke down and the passengers took a tractor to reach the airport lounge.
A video of passengers taking a tractor ride last night is now going viral.
Due to rains, a retaining wall collapsed in Majestic, however no loss of life was reported.
Few days back a three-storied building collapsed in Wilson Garden and in the nick of time, a few staying at the old building ran out of the building.
After this incident, two more cases of building collapse were reported and it is said that due to seepage of rainwater, the buildings collapsed.
According to a report, in Bengaluru, there are about 130 locations that are prone to floods during heavy rains. Civic experts and also municipal officials had said that if the city received 60 mm rainfall in an hour, such flooding cannot be ruled out.
Some of the newly developed areas and layouts also flooded during recent rains and one among the areas in startup hub Koramangala saw many apartment complexes flooded with storm water and sewage.
