Meanwhile, the CPIM has appealed to the Congress leadership to remove the candidate for the Samsherganj constituency. However, Congress is reluctant to withdraw its demand for this seat.

CPIM leader Jamir Mollah said the Left Front-Congress-ISF had formed an alliance to oust the Trinamool Congress-BJP. It has already been decided who will get how many seats.

Trinamool Congress district president Abu Taher Khan's sarcasm about the entanglement in this alliance is that he does not want to give up an inch of land to anyone. He never believes in alliances. That is why the alliance in Murshidabad is complicated.
