The Election Commission rejected allegations of the TMC that there was discrepancy in poll turnout and malfunctioning of EVMs in South Kanthi.

Earlier in the day, the Trinamool Congress raised concerns over the voting percentage on the poll body’s mobile application.

The TMC tweeted along with two screenshots of the Election Commission’s voter turnout app, “What is happening @ECISVEEP?! Could you explain how voting percentage drastically reduced to half within a gap of just 5 minutes?! Shocking! @CEOWestBengal, please look into this urgently!”

According to the pictures, the voter turnout in assembly seats in the Purbo Medinipur district dropped by over 10% in five minutes.

The Trinamool claims that Amit Shah and Shuvendu Adhikari have conspired to manipulate the EVM. After a while, TMC workers started protesting around the booth. However, the presiding officer said that no such allegation was substantiated. Polling agents are at the booth. They have checked everything.

After the voting process was closed for some time, the presiding officer asked the grassroots polling agents to send 5 voters of their choice to a booth. The commission has said that the allegations of the Trinamool Congress are baseless. Officials told them the voting machine was working properly.
