The video was shared by Sheldrick Wildlife Trust on their Twitter handle with a caption, “Dust baths are incredibly fun, just ask Kinyei! But they serve a practical purpose too, coating the orphans in a layer of earth that protects their skin from the sun. The herd dives in daily, as part of their daily routine(sic).”
Dust baths are essential for elephants as it creates a muddy layer on their skin which protects them from sun's harmful rays.
