Chara Sooraj, who was ill since the last few months, died at his residence in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, and his relatives couldn't come over to his place due to coronavirus lockdown
Jodhpur: In a touching gesture, a day before Eid, members of the Muslim community helped in performing the last rites of their Hindu neighbour in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, after the deceased's relatives failed to reach in time for his funeral due to the lockdown.
In an exemplary show of communal harmony, Muslim members performed final rites of their neighbour Chara Sooraj alias Pintu, who succumbed to his prolonged illness. A neighbour known as Sakur Mohammed along with his community members cremated Sooraj's mortal remains at a Hindu crematorium according to Hindu rituals.
