Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished people on the opening day of the nine-day Navratri celebration on Thursday, hoping that the season gives everyone strength, good health, and wealth. "Navratri greetings to everyone," he tweeted. "The next days will be devoted to the devotion of Jagat Janani Maa. May Navratri bless everyone with strength, good health, and wealth," he added.

The Prime Minister also referred to Goddess Shailaputri, which means "daughter of the mountains" and is one of the nine incarnations of Durga, who is worshipped on the first day of Navratri. "It is Day 1 of Navratri, and we pray to Maa Shailputri," the prime minister tweeted. Here's a Stuti who is completely dedicated to her."

Navratri, the fortunate nine-day festival, begins today, October 7. The first day of Navratri is the Pratipada Tithi, which commemorates the entrance of Goddess Durga. Ghatasthapana is the most important part of the Durga puja. On Pratipada, the earliest form of Goddess Durga, Mata Shialputri, is worshipped. Hemavati, Bhavani, and Parvati are some of her other names. Her representation holds a Trishul in her right hand and a lotus in her left.

The auspicious event began this morning and will last nine days, culminating on October 15. According to the Hindu calendar, the festival's third and fourth days occur on the same day this year, making October 15 when Dussehra is celebrated.

This nine-day holiday is observed throughout India. People adore the goddess Durga in her nine incarnations throughout this festival. The name 'Navaratri' means 'nine nights,' representing the triumph of the nine incarnations against demonic force. The worshipers pray, fast, and embrace the nine symbols of female power. However, the fascinating aspect of this celebration is that different colours are associated with each day of the festival, with some adherents dressing in the colours that correlate to that day.
