The Osmania University administration decided to evict the non-boarders from the hostels. As part of the eviction process the administration cut off the power and water supply to the hostels. But even legitimate boarders are being affected in the process.

Hundreds of students protested against the administration and police by staging a Raasta Roko and sloganeering. They even cooked food by the roadside inside the campus on Saturday night.
The administration authorities have been vacating the hostels with the support of the police since one month. 100 students have been vacated till date and the administration wants to speed up the process before academic classes commence on Monday.
The student leaders say that the Telangana government is wants to exact revenge from the Osmania students.
