Telangana Youth Congress leader Vikram Goud arrested for staged shooting attack on self

Telangana Youth Congress leader Vikram Goud has been arrested and sent to judicial custody for staging an alleged murder attempt on self to win the sympathy of voters and his father.

According to police, Vikram Goud, who is the son of a former Congress minister Mukesh Goud hired contract shooters to stage a fake murder attempt on him. The debt-ridden Congress leader wanted to win the sympathy from his voters, family and friends.

He was produced before the Nampally court which sent him to 14-day remand after which he was shifted to Chanchalguda jail.

Vikram Goud was discharged from Apollo Hospital in Banjara Hills where he was admitted on July 28 with gunshot injuries. The police during the investigation found that Vikram staged the entire shootout incident.

Soon after his discharge from the hospital, he was arrested and produced before III Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court at Nampally Criminal Courts Complex.

The public prosecutor requested the court to send Vikram Goud to judicial custody under sections 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) 109 (abatement), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence), 203 (giving false information with respect to an offence committed) of the IPC, 25-1(a) (illegal possession of fire arm) and 27 (using fire arm illegally) of the Arms Act, while the defence counsel moved a bail petition as the accused is still grievously injured.

The magistrate after listening to the arguments dismissed the bail petition as Vikram is A1 accused but ordered the jail authorities to provide necessary treatment to Vikram.

Prison officials, however, said that they shift Vikram either to Gandhi or Osmania Hospital for better treatment.
