Telangana Forest Minister goes missing in Forest

On Wednesday the Telangana Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna went to plant trees in the Narsapur Forests of Medak District as part of the Haritha Haram Program but went missing close to an hour leaving his officials and police personnel puzzled.

The minister was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, local MLA Madan Reddy, Collector Bharati Hollikeri and forest officials as he went to Narsapur forests, the largest forest in the state.

According to reports, the minister and the officials planted a few saplings a few kilometres away from the highway. Deputy Speaker, Collector and some officials took one route while Ramanna, Madan and some other officials took another route following which they lost their way.

They were supposed to meet for lunch at a particular venue. When the Deputy Speaker and collector with their team reached the lunch venue, Ramanna and his team went missing

The officials realised the minister went missing and started scanning the whole area. The forest being large and dense had low mobile connectivity which made the hour-long search operation much more difficult.

But after an hour of suspense, the minister’s team found the correct route and met others.
