TDP leader accuses Telangana CM of sand scam

TDP leader accuses Telangana CM of sand scam

Telugu Desam Party leader of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, has accused the Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his family of running an illegal sand business and earning crores of rupees.

Revanth criticised the CM’s family for their illegal sand dealings in Karimnagar district. He questioned as to the possibility of KCR family owning all the sand quarries in Karimnagar district. He threatened the CM that he would take the issue to the Green Tribunal.

Victims of police torture from the villages  of Nerella, Jillela and Sarampalli in  Sirisilla district met Revanth Reddy and asked him to speak on their behalf. They said that 10 villagers belonging to Dalits and the lower strata have died under the sand lorries.

The sand business in Karimnagar district is run by Vaishnavi Granites, Goldmine Minerals, Sairam Granites, Sairam Minerals, all these companies belonging to the relatives and friends of KCR. The villagers complained that the sand business companies are earning crores of rupees against rules.

Revanth Reddy accused that the sand mafia paid royalty for 20 tonnes but dig 60 tonnes of sand, pay challan for one lorry but run 10 lorries and that too overloaded. He demanded that the CM pay Rs 10 lakh  compensation to each family who died because of the sand mafia and Rs 2 lakh compensation to the victims of police torture.
